As a wheelchair user, I will gladly be the first to sign spillage from cups is a huge problem. Personally, I really value independence – that’s why I have an electric wheelchair – and making my own decisions. I also really care about being seen as the person I am and not as the disease I have. My wheelchair is black, my wheels are black, and my backpack is black. Because I hate eye-catching aids that make me stand out more from the crowd. Whether I’m at a festival and drinking draft beer, or simply at home and have to get a cup of coffee from the kitchen every now and then, it is ALWAYS a struggle to maintain my freedom and independence, as the suspension on my wheelchair in no way compensates for how much strength it takes to balance a full cup.
Drinksaver’s product meets all my requirements and expectations for a discreet and effective aid. With your cup, I have yet to experience a spill, despite driving with a scalding Starbucks coffee on extremely rough terrain such as cobblestones.
That way, I don’t have to have someone carry it for me. In addition, the product looks like an ordinary glass – so I don’t feel more disabled than I am. Without a doubt, a simple and elegant solution to a problem that the undersigned and many others suffer from.
No longer a barrier
When I was first introduced to the Drinksaver product, I really felt that I was facing a product that had finally solved one of the challenges that my Cerebral Palsy gives me in my daily life – namely, the fact that due to my difficulty walking, I could not go with a glass of water or a cup without both water and coffee sloshing out of the glass/cup.
The Drinksaver has made a huge difference for me in my everyday life, both at home and work; with the Drinksaver in hand, I can now move with a full cup from A-B without worrying about dropping half the contents on the floor.
The Drinksaver has thus increased my ability to function independently in everyday life, as I no longer need to ask others for help to carry my cup to ensure that I do not spill.
As a person with a disability who really values being able to fend for myself on a day-to-day basis, the Drinksaver has been a huge help in ensuring that I can manage to collect my coffee myself, which may seem like a small thing, but it really means a lot a lot when you, like me, have been used to not being able to do it. I can thank the entrepreneurs at Drinksaver for that.
